Jonathan

Jonathan's Biography

Jonathan Yarwood

Originally from England, Jonathan moved over to the states and the David Leadbetter academy through IMG in 1996 after a short stint for them at Mount Juliet in Ireland. A British PGA Class A pro, Jonathan had the pleasure of working with a variety of touring professionals before joining DLGA. After nine years as a Leadbetter instructor, Jonathan has branched out on his own. He travels extensively with his stable of players whom include 2005 US Open Champion, Michael Campbell.

Over the years, Jonathan has gone out of his way to observe and learn from the best in order to create a holistic approach to the game and his teaching. He has spent many, many hours watching David Leadbetters' lessons, in person, observingDavid working with some of his finest clients including Ernie Els, Charles Howell, Lee Westwood, Nick Price and many more. During these periods, which is on-going, Jonathan has a chance to quiz and learn from the David in order to improve his own teaching.

He has also observed and aided Scotty Cameron, spent time with Bob Vokey on wedges and spent time through clients listening too and watching Psychologists Bob Rotella and Jos Vastiput. These insight into all aspects of the game has helped Jonathan add many strings to his bow. Jonathan has mutiple TV appearances to his name along with a multitude of magazine article around the world in various publications.

His track record speaks for itself. One US Open Champion, one US Amateur Champion, Two US Girls Champions, four US #1 Juniors, Three AJGA players of the year, thirty one all americans, the list goes on.

But Jonathan continues to have a thirst for knowledge and to enjoy helping people of all levels to improve their games, amateur and Professional alike.

Stoke Park

Stoke Park was created in 1908 as Britain’s finest country estate. The course was laid out by Harry Colt who also designed Sunningdale, Muirfield, Pine Valley and Royal Portrush amongst others. It has won many accolades over the years and the Par 3 7th hole was the inspiration for the 12th at Augusta National, now the most notorious Par 3 in the world. It also played host to the most memorable game of golf in cinema history, when James Bond defeated Auric Goldfinger on the 18th green in Goldfinger (1964), and has been the scene of many other films include Layer Cake, Bridget Jones’ Diary and Tomorrow Never Dies.

Stoke Park is still one of the finest venues in Great Britain, combining sumptuous 5 star standard accommodation and some of the finest sporting and leisure facilities in the country. On the final hole of the 1969 Ryder Cup, the first time the United States played Europe in a Cup match, Jack Nicklaus stunned the golf world by conceding a two-foot putt to Tony Jacklin. That grand gesture of sportsmanship inspired The Concession Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course designed in association with his long-time friend, Tony Jacklin.

The Club is a celebration of that act of sportsmanship, one of the most poignant moments in the history of professional golf. Set on a strikingly beautiful landscape among centuries-old oak hammocks, The Concession brings championship golf facilities and an elegant country club lifestyle to a select, private membership.

Set among the breathtaking natural beauty of native stands of oak, magnolia and pine, The Concession golf course covers 520 acres and offers unique challenges and panoramic vistas on each of its 18 holes. Meticulously maintained, it is one of only a few golf courses in America where the condition of all 18 greens is managed by computer monitoring and control systems beneath each green. These systems regulate humidity, pH balance and drainage to ensure that the course is in top form throughout the year.

One of the country’s largest private practice areas provides a beautiful stage for golfers of all skill levels to improve their game. The vast 23-acre practice facility includes two driving ranges, one of which has an elevated tee section; a 10,000-square-foot putting green; and a 14,000-square-foot chipping green, giving Members the ability to practice any shot up to 100 yards. Complementing The Concession’s superior golf experience is an elegant 33,000-square-foot Palladian-style Clubhouse with all the traditional club amenities, fittingly appointed for hosting professional tournaments.
